Topic Ideas for Instagram Guides

Have you heard of Instagram’s newest feature called Guides yet? Maybe you have, and you have no idea what to post yet for your very first Guide.

Instagram Guides allows you to provide a curated content experience for your followers. This new feature is an easy way to direct followers in response to questions they may have around a certain topic, or about a particular product or service you offer. Instagram Guides can also simplify their journey through your content, and can be utilized to assist in the customer journey.

Here to inspire you, I have come up with a variety of different topics for 3 different kinds of accounts on Instagram.

1. Service-Based Businesses

This is your chance to go deeper into those amazing services you provide!

Have you been getting questions requesting further information from the Reels or Stories you have posted? Now is your chance to add those Reels or feed posts to a Guide centered around a particular topic or theme that you have already covered.

Topic ideas include results from a particular service (think social proof and evidence of what your services help others achieve), reviews you have had from those who have worked with you, and topics that serve your audience.

2. Product-Based Businesses

With the holidays just around the corner, why not focus on a gift guides as your very first Instagram Guide? Each Guide could be created based on the gift receiver. Gift receiver ideas could be parents, friends, foodies, kids, themes (such as eco-friendly, functionality, etc) or holidays.

3. Bloggers

Bloggers, rejoice! Those carefully written captions and favorite roundups you’ve already posted can find new life with Instagram Guides.

Topic ideas could include seasonal outfit or product roundups, travel guides, gift guides, as well as themes relevant to your content buckets: style, home, beauty, etc. The sky is the limit!

Not sure how to add Instagram Guides to your profile? Here’s how:

1. Go to profile.

2. Tap the “+” sign in top left hand corner.

3. A tab should pop up with multiple feature options. (Guides are at the bottom for me).

4. Select “guides” and follow the prompts to make your first guide.
