Instagram Reels Glitches
Are you running into issues when editing or posting Reels? Maybe you have asked the question “are Instagram Reels down right now?” or even "are Instagram Reels gone all together?” You’re not the only one who has noticed these glitches! This new feature on Instagram is incredibly glitchy. However, I have noticed some patterns recently when it comes to common glitches myself and Reel Talk students are experiencing.
As with any new Instagram feature, glitchy is common. It’s important to remember that Instagram is always A/B testing features across different accounts, so yours might differ from a friends account.
Reel Talk students have found that on some accounts there is no Reels option, but in reality it has just changed places from where it was previously located. Likely another example of Instagram A/B testing. Other glitches we’ve found are Instagram Reels having no sound, Instagram Reels music not available, Instagram Reels not showing after an update and even Instagram Reels not showing in a new account.
Because these glitches are out of our control, and the feature is still so new I don’t have a complete solution yet. However, the below options have helped me and my students in the past:
(1) Check your phone or application software:
Making sure this is up to date has been major cure to glitches while trying to edit or post your Reel. Please remember to save your work in drafts! (2) Try again later:
Sometimes just taking a break, and coming back to your Reel later works best. Instagram usually has the glitches sorted out in a matter of hours. Students of Reel Talk all know the importance of patience and giving ourselves a little grace when it comes to the Reels feature because, again, it is so new!
