How To Get Confident On Reels
You might be scrolling through your feed seeing all these amazing Reels, and find yourself wondering if you’ll ever find the confidence to post those kind of ‘out there,’ show stopping Reels. Let me tell you, it doesn’t happen by chance!
I don’t think any of us grew up thinking we would have to create multiple short videos a week to promote ourselves or business online. Then along came Reels. Spoiler alert! It wasn’t my favourite thing either when I first started. But once I gained the confidence, started having fun and simplifying the process, it was game changing!
Here are my best tips for building your confidence with Reels:
Start with something easy. Yupp! The more simple, the better. Instead of trying to record a Reel with multiple effects, transitions and dance moves, start with something simple like a behind the scenes that doesn’t show your face.
Use proven content. If you’re questioning a certain topic or idea, put that idea aside until you feel more confident. Sometimes you just need a quick win. Check your insights for your most popular content themes and use that to direct your Reels strategy.
Focus on your goals. Remember your overall goal for your account? Well, you have to have that in the forefront as you create your Reels as well. Remembering why you want to create Reels in the first place, and how they fit into your goals can help with your confidence and clarity. Even motivation for that matter!
PRACTICE ALREADY! I’ve said it many times to our audience and students. Practice truly does make perfect. If you compare my first Reels to my most recent, the progress is exponential. Having realistic expectations and committing to practicing and experimenting helps boost your confidence and results.
Just like any other skill, it doesn’t happen over night! Be kind with yourself and ALWAYS have fun.
